What BRIMSies have to say....

Testimonials from students and community members

BRIMS has been part of our family for the last 10 years.

BRIMS has been part of our family for the last 10 years. The first year everybody
in the house was spending some part of Tuesday evenings at one class or another.
Our daughter learned her first jig steps that year and she forgot how to walk - she
could only dance, anywhere and everywhere. We had an exchange student from
Germany that year who took fiddle lessons. She loved it so much that when it
turned out that the auction featured a nice instrument that spring, she planted
herself in front of it so that no one else would bid on it - she won it and she is still
playing it today back home.
I’ve done a bit of everything - fiddle, dance, whistle, singing and I’ve gone on two
study trips to Ireland. I have to say, those trips are pure joy for me. I’m in this
strange state of bliss the entire time, and I can recall it instantly any time I play
some of those tunes. My family has moved on to other pleasures, but Trad is part
of my life. I love that the core group comes back year after year and that we have
had the pleasure of watching so many young people move on up through the ranks
and go away and come back again. That says it all.
